BREATH
The process that flows in this work has become the work itself, just like the cycle of life that we breathe in and out. It naturally disappears in the process as it shows the passage of time how the composition of the screen changes by using the "extinction plate method" that completes the process by continuously cutting a single plate.
Extinction means disappearing, but it shows the generation that the screen is constructed by disappearing. The traces of the sword passing by remain, and the traces become shapes, talking about extinction and generation. The process of
creating chairs and trees where knives have passed is the result of my living breathing and cutting down trees.
"It depends on the amount of ink, the use of the knife, and the depth of the engraving, so some unexpected work came out. I was embarrassed at first because the work I planned didn't come out, but I experienced the moment when the work felt rather attractive, and the anxiety turned into expectations. I'd say that the whole process of engraving,
where the atmosphere varies depending on the work of increasing ink and decreasing ink, was breathing."

Artist profile
KIM SO HYUN
I deal with my life and the lives of others, all of them. What has passed is a trace of living, and it is proof that everyone who reads this now is alive.
We, who will live more in the future, constantly ask questions, and think to our surroundings during our lives.
So do I. I will induce the question to not be cut off and help me find the true meaning of "life" together, which I have not yet found
